White Birthday Cake

2/3 cup butter

1 ¾ cups sugar

2 eggs

1 ½ tsp vanilla

3 cups cake flour or 2 ¾ cup regular flour

2 ½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 ¼ cups milk

Mix and beat well. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13

inch pan. Bake at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes.

Frosting:

½ cup shortening

5 cups icing sugar

2 tsp almond

¼ cup plus 1 tbsp milk

Mix well and top cooled cake.
