This comedy finds lawyer Charles Tuttle (Jeff Daniels) about to defend his wife's relative Benny (Rip Torn) in a class action lawsuit. When he arrives at the city where the trial takes place, he's surprised by an bachelor party his friend Richard (Micheal Richards) has decided to throw for him. Unfortunately for Charles, the next day he's way to ill to do the get up and get to the courtroom. So Richard decides to fill in for Charles. The problem is that Richard is nothing more than an actor who knows nothing about the law. Can Charles teach Richard enough about the law in order to win the most important case in his career?
