Just released from prison, Gabriel Caine (James Woods) has a bet with a business man. He is the owner of most of Diggstown. Diggstown has gone boxing-mad. Gabe has to find a boxer who can knock out nearly a dozen of Diggstown’s men. And the catch is that he has to be able to do it within 24 hours. Gabe thinks "Honey" Roy Palmer (Louis Gossett Jr). is the guy to do the job. The 48-year-old refuses to agree with the townspeople that he is too old. Besides all the excitement of the possible knock-outs the heavyweight champion, Charles Macum Diggs (Wilhelm von Homburg) has literately rolled into town.
