For Han Sing (Jet Li), family has always come first. He even went to prison to allow his father and brother, both with ties to the Chinese mafia, escape to San Francisco. When his brother is killed, Sing escapes from prison to find his killer. In a cruel twist of fate, he falls for Trish O'Day (Aaliyah), the daughter of the man that he believes is responsible for his brother's death. The O'Day gang is rivals with Sing's father's gage and only with the help of Trish can he possibly solve his brother's murder in the middle of a turf war where too many people are dying. Can this love struck duo solve the crime and keep themselves alive when everyone one around them is against them?
