War veteran Jacob (Tim Robbins) is badly affected by visions from his days in Vietnam. These visions relate to something that happened on the Mekong Delta in October 1971. The flashbacks together with memories of his dead son haunt Jacob as he attempts to live a normal life with girlfriend Jezzie (Elizabeth Pena). One day Jacob gets a call from Paul (Pruitt Taylor Vince) who was with him in Vietnam and it seems that Jacob is not the only one who is haunted by these visions. Together the duo along with the help of chiropractor Louis (Danny Aiello) attempt to make sense of the intruding images and bring some normality to their lives.
