Ernest (Jim Varney) leads a pretty normal, uneventful life until one day he is visited by an angel. The angel nicknamed “The Archangel of Basketball” (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) offers to grant Ernest’s wildest fantasy, and bestows upon Ernest a magical pair of basketball shoes. The magic shoes give Ernest unbelievable basketball and athletic abilities, and allow Ernest to play professional basketball. While Ernest fails to fit in with the other players on his time, his amazing ability on the basketball court allows for them to bond and eventually he becomes a popular and prominent member of the team. Ernest’s dreams though may be cut short if he is unable to protect the magical shoes.
