Two prisoners, Charles Piper (Laurence Fishburne) and Mark Dodge (Stephen Baldwin), who are fed up with life behind bars decide to escape when they are chained together during a failed jail break by their chain gang. Dodge, a computer hacker, tells of a stolen floppy disk that contains a great deal of worth to the two escapees. They pursue this disk with the help of a beautiful, yet dangerous woman. Their search for the disk lands them a great deal of opposition including a by-the-book cop, Detective Matthew Gibson (Will Patton, as well as a corrupt U. S. Marshall and Cuban Mafiosos who will stop it nothing to retrieve the disk and detain Piper and Dodge.
