“Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment” sees a city taken by storm at night by Zed (Bob Goldthwait) and his band of studded punk pranksters. This could only be the cause of a poor educational system in which American is ready to showcase just how well their law enforcement program by placing new recruits into their first assignments. Capt. Peter Lassard (Howard Hesseman) contacts his brother Commandant Eric Lassard (George Gaynes) for some fresh blood for his prescient and is given officers Carey Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg), Mosses Hightower (Bubba Smith), Larvelle Jones (Michael Winslow), Eugene Tackleberry (David Graf), Douglas Fackler (Bruce Mahler), and Laverne Hooks (Marion Ramsey). The new recruits are a godsend and even go as far as embarrassing veteran officer Lieutenant Mauser (Art Metrano) as he tried to gun for Lassard’s job as Captain, forever making an enemy.
