Teen comedy about a geeky, artsy girl Laney (Rachel Lee Cook) who gets picked for a bet. The bet is that popular football player Zach (Freddie Prinze Jr) can turn any unattractive female in the school into the prom queen. Zach gets dumped by his hottie girlfriend Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) and then makes the bet with a friend. During Zach's transformation of Laney, when she takes down her hair, removes her glasses, and puts on a little make-up, true feelings start to arise between the two. Laney finds out about Zach's ruse, but Zach tries to explain he really does have feelings for her. Teen angst, misunderstandings, lies, and stereotypes run amuck in this modern day adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.
