During Prohibition, Rayford Gibson (Eddie Murphy) is a small time con and Claude Banks (Martin Lawrence) is an honest man who finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. While they are running booze for a man they both owe money to, they are caught. They are falsely accused of murder and sentenced to life in a Mississippi prison farm. They are serving time with a funny cast of characters who are all lifers too. The movie flashes to different period of their sentence. They bicker with one another throughout the 65 years they are in Prison and never stop trying to get their freedom back.
