Lance Barton (Chris Rock) is a stand-up comic that is on the eve of his big break when an angel makes a mistake and takes his soul before he was supposed to die. Now, Lance is demanding a second shot at life. While they look for a permanent body for Lance, he has to stay in the only available body. Unfortunately, it is an old, but very rich white man. What is worse, his wife and business partner are trying to kill him. He meets the young lawyer, Sontee Jenkins (Regina King) and learns that he can help a lot of people with his money. He doesn’t give up on his dream of being a comic at the Apollo either. Hopefully he can get a new body, and keep his love and dreams alive.
